What a Plan Does Not Cover
Court appearances, litigation, and highly specialized matters sit outside plan scope and are billed separately (always at a discounted rate for active Partners). Your Outside General Counsel will flag anything out of scope before it costs you a dollar. Litigation is unpredictable by nature, which is why we will not pretend to price it monthly.
What a Month Actually Looks Like
On Launch Access
A call about the lease you were sent. A contract reviewed before you sign it. Two questions answered in writing without scheduling anything. Your firm listed as counsel of record, so vendors know you have a lawyer.
On Growth Counsel
All of the above, twice over, plus a registered agent handling your state notices, template agreements you can reuse, and someone who already knows the answer because they wrote your last contract.

Is a Partner Plan right for my business?
If your business signs contracts, manages employees or contractors, or makes growth decisions that carry legal weight more than a couple of times a year, a standing plan tends to fit better than calling a different attorney each time something comes up. If you have one or two isolated legal questions per year, a one-time engagement for that specific issue may be the better fit. Can we change plans as our legal needs change?
Yes. Partner Plans are month to month, so the level of support can change as your business changes. We will flag when your usage consistently points to a different tier and recommend the plan that fits the work you actually need.
A single in-house hire, however experienced, brings one set of skills and one area of depth. With an OCL Partner Plan, you have access to a team with experience across business law, contracts, employment matters, intellectual property, and more, so whatever your business encounters, someone on your legal team has handled it before. Is this different from other legal subscription services I may have seen?
Yes. Most subscription-style legal services are structured as a safety net. They exist for the rare emergency, the one-off question, or the situation where you just need a document reviewed once a year. The model works if you never actually need to use it.

What falls outside my plan, and how is it handled?
Court appearances, litigation, and highly specialized matters fall outside your plan’s scope, as do one-time large projects or disputes that require dedicated work beyond your plan’s coverage. All of it is billed separately, at a discounted rate for active OCL Partner Plan clients, with a quote from your Outside General Counsel before any additional work begins.
Do unused sessions or reviews roll over?
No. Allotments reset each month, which is what keeps the price fixed and predictable. If you consistently need more than your tier includes, that is a signal to move up rather than to bank hours, and we will tell you when we see it.
Can we start with a project instead of a plan?
Often that is the better way in. Many clients work with us on a project or two first, so we both learn what the ongoing need actually looks like before anyone commits to a tier. We would rather recommend the right plan in month three than the wrong one in week one.
